Vegan Thai Basil Dumplings

The Recipe

Vegan Thai basil dumplings (yield 24 dumplings)

Ingredients

For the dumplings:

24 dumpling wrappers (homemade or store-bought)

1 garlic clove, minced

1 piece of ginger (1 inch/ 2.5 cm)

12 ounces / 340 g plant-based ground

1 spring onion, finely chopped

3/4 teaspoon red Thai curry paste

2 tablespoons soy sauce

For the sauce:

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup Thai basil

3 red chilies, sliced

2 tablespoons vegan fish sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 spring onions, chopped

splash of water

Instructions

1. In a bowl combine plant-based ground, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped spring onion, red Thai curry paste and soy sauce.




2. Place a spoonful of filling on top of a dumpling wrapper. Wet the outer edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the dumpling in half and seal the dumplings. Repeat with the remaining dumpling wrappers and filling.

3. In a pan heat 2 tablespoon of oil. Add minced garlic, sliced chilies, Thai basil, chopped spring onions and dumplings. Stir-fry for a few minutes until one side of the dumplings is crispy and golden brown. Add water, fish sauce and soy sauce and place a lid on the pan. Steam for a few minutes until dumplings are cooked. ENJOY!
