Vegan Korean BBQ Tofu With Spiced Yogurt Sauce

Looking for a light and delicious meal, packed with proteins and flavor? Try this vegan Korean BBQ tofu with spiced yogurt sauce. It takes under 30 minutes to make it and it is really good! 










The Recipe

Vegan korean bbq tofu with spiced yogurt sauce (serves about 3 as part of a main dish)

Ingredients

For the tofu:

14 ounces / 400 g extra-firm tofu, sliced 

1 tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrup

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon paprika powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

dash of chili

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 tablespoon Korean chili flakes

1/8 cup / 30 ml korean gochujang sauce

1/8 cup / 30 ml sweet chili sauce

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

vegetable oil for cooking 

For the yogurt sauce:

150 g plain vegan yogurt

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon vegan fish sauce

1 small garlic clove, minced

1 small green chili (optional)

Instructions

1. In a food processor combine yogurt, lime juice, vegan fish sauce, garlic and chili and blend until smooth. Transfer to a serving bowl and set aside.

2. In a bowl combine spices, gochujang sauce, sweet chili sauce and ginger. 

3. In a skillet or pan heat some vegetable oil and stir-fry the tofu until golden brown and crispy. Add the bbq sauce and marinate the tofu with it. Cook for a fe minutes until tofu is covered in a thick sauce. Serve with yogurt sauce, steamed rice and veggies, if desired. ENJOY!
